Most background checks take less than one business day to complete, but they may take longer depending on the type of search that was requested, geographical location and local governmental operations.
Many searches will only take a few seconds if the records are available online or if they can be delivered electronically. Other types of searches may be more comprehensive and take a bit longer. Employment and Education verification may require that the institution be contacted for validation.
In order to avoid unnecessary delays, please respond to any requests for additional information that you may receive from one of our agents.
Once your background check is ready, we will send you a link via email and text message! Using this link, you can access and download your background report.
As a security measure, you will be prompted to enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
If you prefer to use another form of verification, click on try other credentials. You will be prompted to provide your phone number or the last four digits of your driver's license number, if it was collected for a Motor Vehicle Report.
Once you open your background check, you can simply right-click on the report and select print. Instead of choosing a printer as the destination, select Save as PDF and it will begin to download.
We encourage you to save a copy of the background check for your records.
When your background check has information that you believe is wrong, incomplete or inaccurate, please contact us and file a dispute.
Please visit our support center and submit a ticket, or send an email to support@turn.ai. In your message please be sure to indicate which part(s) of the report are being disputed. We also ask that you provide any supporting information that will assist in our investigation.
Once we receive your information, Turn will re-investigate your claim and correct the report if necessary.
Please keep in mind, that if the information on the report is correct, but you would like to provide additional context, detail or more information, please contact the company that ordered the background check.
You can trust Turn. In addition to being a registered background check company with the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA), we have several layers of security in place in order to keep your information as secure as possible.
We ruthlessly automate, with a focus on infrastructure as code, security as part of the build process, and rigorous, continuous monitoring. Your PII information is encrypted at rest with AES 256 bit encryption, and in transit to our web and platforms via HTTPS. On the web we use extended validation certificates to prove the authenticity of our web services and to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks. The ‘green bar’ in your web browser is the indication of this certificate. We use strong cryptography with 256-bit keys and practice consistent key rotation.
Once access to consumer PII has been granted, it is not immediately available to the Turn partner. Turn employs an additional level of verification and auditing when the specific PII details (SSN, phone number, email, driver’s license number) are specifically requested. This minimizes the chances for identity theft through screen scraping, hidden photography, casual observation etc.

Every background check is as unique as the individual applying, so the completion time varies with each report.
There are many variables that can affect the time to deliver the candidate's report. A common reason a background check may take longer than expected is if the candidate provides information that doesn't match what we find in public records. For instance, a simple typo in their date of birth, or if they provide a nickname instead of their legal name. In these cases we will follow up with the candidate to confirm and update the information so that the report can be continue processing.
Delays from courthouses and county office closures can also impact the time it takes for an applicant's background check to complete.
Please take in consideration that Turn does not evaluate the information on your report.
Based on what your report currently shows, the employer decides if you are eligible or not to work for them.
However, you can contact your potential employer’s hiring manager to provide them with any mitigating circumstances or evidence or rehabilitation

The company that you applied for will receive the the same report that is provided to you when your background check is complete.
Depending on the role that you applied for, each employer has designed its own set of requirements and restrictions that are relevant to the specific posting. Turn Technologies provides the background check, but does not determine the criteria that a company uses to make a hiring decision.
