Turn offers an award-winning background screening platform that is tailor-made for the high-volume hiring of hourly, salaried, shift-based, or independently contracted workers. In 2022, Turn was recognized by the Inc 5000 as the #169 fastest growing private company in America and the #8 fastest growing private company in HR tech.
Before launching Turn, Rahman founded and led Pangea Money Transfer, a global remittance and financial services platform for the underbanked, which was acquired by Enova International in 2021.
Earlier in his career, he served as CFO at Schatz Development, where he was part of the founding team behind Domu.com, Chicago’s fastest-growing rental listing service at the time.
In 2016, Rahman received the Chicago Immigrant Achievement Award from the American Immigration Council, recognizing his accomplishments as an immigrant entrepreneur. A year earlier, he was named to Crain’s Chicago “40 Under 40” and became a known figure in the city’s tech community—speaking at the Chicago Venture Summit and contributing to organizations like ChicagoNEXT’s FinTech Council and World Business Chicago.
His public appearances include Chicago Founders TV, Bootstrapping in America, and a speaking engagement at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit hosted by the U.S. State Department in Marrakech, Morocco (2014).
Rahman holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
His entrepreneurial roots go back to his teenage years in the Philippines, where he founded the PREP (Promotion of Rural Education in the Philippines) Program. His work there earned recognition from First Lady Amelita Ramos, who credited him with “raising the standard of education” in rural communities.
